TIMBER FRAME

Summary: This timber frame structure was built by my dad and I at his home in Sterlington, LA in 2014, to provide a shelter for my brother’s wedding. All the timber are local cypress sourced from a nearby mill. My dad and I shared a vision for the overall design and each did our part in the build. I designed and fabricated all of the structural steel detail brackets and timber truss fittings. All labor was shared between my dad and myself. I have great memories spending time with my family completing this project, while creating a new space for both relaxation and special occasions.

Years later, in 2020, this property would be hit with a tornado, causing immeasurable damage and felling over 120 old-growth trees. In spite of that catastrophe - the timber frame structure held strong and remains to this day.
